Admission Requirements
The program invites applications from applicants who have the drive and ability to bridge the fields of computer science, business, and law & policy. Students entering this programme will have completed a four-year bachelor´s programme or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Social Science (e.g. Political Science or Economics), Law, or other related disciplines. All applications are individually evaluated and students from other disciplines may be admitted. Students must meet normal admission standards for the Faculty of Graduate Studies (for more information visit http://www.dalgrad.dal.ca/admissions.)

However, meeting these requirements does NOT necessarily guarantee admission.

Non-Canadian applicants, whose native tongue is not English, require a TOEFL score of at least 100 (IBT) for admission into the program. The following other tests will also be accepted with the following minimum scores: IELTS, 7; CanTest, average of at least 4.5 with no band score lower than 4.0; CAEL, 70 overall, with no band score lower than 60. A waiver of the TOEFL requirement will be considered if student has completed a degree program at an institution where the language of instruction is English and the official transcripts reflect this fact.

Application Procedure
Application packages can be downloaded from the Registrar's Office. If you need an application package mailed to you, please send your request to Admissions@Dal.Ca.

The following is a checklist of items to be included in your application:

  • Graduate Studies Application - Part A and Part B from the grad studies website
  • Two confidential reference letters
  • Official TOEFL Test score (if applicable). A minimum score of 100 (IBT) is required.
  • Statement of Intent - approximately 1 to 2 pages in length.
  • General resume
  • Official transcripts sent directly from all institutions previously attended (include a copy for the Faculty of Graduate Studies and a copy for the department).
  • Graduate studies application fee. The application fee is $70.

Deadline
Application is accepted only for the September (Fall Term) session. The deadline for the application is:

June 1 - for Canadian and Landed Immigrants applicants; and,
April 1 - for non-Canadian applicants
